KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Barisan Nasional (BN) would make the best manifesto for 14th General Election (GE-14) in the fight for the fate of the people for the next five years.
Najib who is also the chairman of Barisan Nasional said all that was promised in the manifesto would be executed as a GE-13 manifesto, not like the opposition who only had good promises but were not implemented.
“God-willing when it’s time, we will announce this manifesto and make the best of our priority in fighting for the fate of the people. The reason (GE-14) is the future of the country which is of course the priority to the people will be included in the BN manifesto,” he said in launching the therakyat.com portal at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) last night.
Portal therakyat.com will be the voice and catalyst of BN’s aspiration to maintain its position as a ruling party.
Many believe that the BN government under the leadership of Najib’s PM will be buried in the coming 14th General Elections. This is due to the 1MDB scandal, the introduction of the GST, and the dismissal of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin from the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
Parliament will expire on 23 June 2018 and elections should be held within 60 days before the date. However, there has been no statement from Najib to dissolve the Malaysian parliament. Many parties believe that Najib and Barisan Nasional are facing great pressure from former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir who has now joined the PH camp. The rise of Shafie Afdal and the Warisan Party in Sabah is also seen as a threat to BN to remain in power.
Meanwhile, local opposition parties in Sarawak such as PBDS and STAR are also seen as a threat to BN’s leadership especially in the issue of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and also the issue of Native Customary Rights (NCR).
In the 13th General Election, the opposition won 82 of the 222 seats contested and successfully captured Penang, Selangor and Kelantan. – Dayak News Portal.
